Each year, an increasing number of surfers are riding waves that were non-existent just ten years ago. However, there is currently no comprehensive regulatory framework in place to ensure the safety of surfers in artificial surf environments. The need for regulation is unavoidable, and the surf park industry has a limited opportunity to create its own safety standards before external forces impose their own. It is crucial that these standards are developed by those who truly understand the nuances of surfing and the unique challenges posed by man-made waves.
